The "British Airways Future Lab" (“Future Lab”) research activities are managed and operated by STRAT7 Researchbods Limited ("we" / "our" / "us"). Our contact details can be found hello@bafuturelab.com
We manage and operate these research activities on behalf of British Airways PLC (the “Research Sponsor”), of Waterside, PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, UB7 0GB ("Our Client").
Your inclusion in the Future Lab is governed by these terms and conditions of use (these "Terms"). Please read these Terms and our Privacy Policy carefully before you start to take part in the Future Lab’s research activities. By being part of the Future Lab, you agree to be bound by these Terms and accept the uses of your personal data set out in our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not continue to be part of the Future Lab.
To register as a member of the Future Lab you must be aged 18 or over.
By joining the Future Lab you acknowledge and agree that:
We may invite you via email to participate in a wide variety of activities (including but not limited to; online discussions, live chats and surveys but you do not have any right to receive a minimum number of research activity invitations.
We process information about you in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found here. It is important that you read the Privacy Policy now before agreeing to the Terms. Any queries on how your personal data is stored and used should be addressed to us using the following email address hello@bafuturelab.com. You have individual rights in respect of your personal data which are explained in our Privacy Policy. Our Client has its own Privacy Policy in respect of personal data which it holds about you which can be found here.
A condition of our Terms with you is that all data provided by you is accurate. You should keep your data up to date once you have joined the Future Lab.
When registering to become a member of the Future Lab you will be asked to provide an e-mail address at which you can be contacted. You are free to change this address at any time by contacting hello@bafuturelab.com
You are responsible for updating the e-mail address at which you can be contacted by us. The latest address entered by you will be the one used by us to contact you and invite you to participate in research activities.
If you close your email account, or if it becomes inactive for any other reason, or we find you have used an invalid account, we will need to remove you from receiving emails from the Future Lab. It is your responsibility to update us with the email address at which you can be contacted.
Whenever you submit information or material to any interactive services associated with the Future Lab or in any dealings with us you agree to comply with the standards set out below (the "Acceptable Standards"). The Acceptable Standards apply to each part of any contribution as well as to its whole.
The information and material you submit must be accurate (when you state facts) and be genuinely held (when you state opinions).
You shall not engage in any form of cyber bullying.
You shall not attempt to bypass the auto-censor (such as by deliberately misspelling swear words).
You shall not send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use, re-use or submit any material or information that:
From time to time we might ask you to take part in research tasks which involve uploading images, to help you illustrate how you feel about a certain topic or issue, show us what products/brands you like or don’t like or illustrate pastimes or activities you do. These might be your own photos or content from the web (e.g. images, logos etc.). If you upload an image from the web when taking part in our research tasks, you must first ensure that you have the legal right to upload the image. This will require you to have checked any applicable terms and conditions under which the image has first been posted to the web. Do not upload any images to our site unless you clearly have the right to do so. In any case, you should acknowledge where you have got the image from. In no circumstances may you upload images or content if you do not have permission to do so or for which a commercial fee needs to be paid.
You warrant that all information and material you submit and/or upload as part of the Future Lab research activities will comply with the Acceptable Standards and you agree to reimburse and compensate us fully for any losses that we may suffer or liabilities that we may incur as a result of any breach by you of this warranty.
Failure to comply with the Acceptable Standards constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in us taking or British Airways taking action against you, which may include but is not limited to:
In addition, we may disclose such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary. We also have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any material posted or uploaded by you as part of the Future Lab research activities constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights or their right to privacy.
We exclude all liability for loss or damage of whatever kind you believe is caused to you arising from our actions taken in response to your breaches of the Acceptable Standards. The responses described in these Terms are not limited, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
We may from time to time provide interactive services on the Future Lab. An “interactive service” is one which allows you to upload your information, opinions or content, for example chat rooms, bulletin boards and user polls. (“interactive services”).
Where we do provide an interactive service, we will provide clear information to you about the kind of service offered, if it is moderated and what form of moderation is used (including whether it is human or technical).
We will do our best to assess any possible risks for users (and in particular for children) from third parties when they use any interactive services provided on the Future Lab and we will decide in each case whether it is appropriate to use moderation of the relevant service (including what kind of moderation to use) in the light of those risks.
However, the interactive services are provided for engagement between users of the Future Lab, whose actions we do not control. While we impress the Acceptable Standards upon our users, we cannot guarantee that users will always meet the Acceptable Standards. Therefore, we expressly exclude our liability for any loss or damage of any kind, howsoever caused arising from the use of any interactive service by a user in contravention of the Acceptable Standards, whether the interactive service is moderated or not.
Where we do moderate an interactive service, we will normally provide you with a means of contacting the moderator if you have any concerns, or if any difficulty arises.
As a registered member of the Future Lab you may automatically be entered into free prize draws which we run on behalf of Our Client. You can find our Free Prize Draw Terms and Conditions here.
In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the Prize Draw Terms and Conditions and these Terms, the Prize Draw Terms and Conditions will prevail.
By participating in the Future Lab you agree that you will not show or divulge to a third party any content shared with you, including but not limited to new ideas, concepts, advertising and packaging designs that we may show you and invite you to discuss in various research activities or in any follow up correspondence.
Your use or reproduction of the information available to you via the Future Lab and in any follow up correspondence (howsoever disclosed) is only permitted with our prior written consent which can be requested using the following email address hello@bafuturelab.com. We may take legal action against you for any breach of these confidentiality obligations and your right to be part of the Future Lab will cease immediately.
You agree that all proprietary rights, licences, title and interest including intellectual property rights and copyright in all countries and for all purposes in all ideas, plans, drawings, packaging design, artwork, logos, specifications, recipes, processes, formulas, know how, marketing knowledge or models or any other document or information discussed or provided by you through your use of the Future Lab or any subsequent communications or meetings with us shall belong jointly to STRAT7 Researchbods and British Airways.
Infringement of copyright or other intellectual property rights of the Future Lab or the materials associated with it may lead to criminal and/or civil sanctions in the UK and other countries.
The “STRAT7 Researchbods” trademark is owned by us.
The "BA" trademarks is owned by British Airways.
No license is granted to you in these Terms to use any of our trademarks or any trademark of British Airways or its affiliated companies including, without limitation, the trade marks set out above. Permission is granted to you to look at the content of the Future Lab research activities on a screen, but you may not store such content in electronic form or otherwise reproduce, modify copy or distribute or use for commercial purposes any content of the Future Lab.
If you print off, copy, download or distribute any part of the Future Lab research activities in breach of these Terms, your right to be part of the Future Lab will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.
Please note that viruses and similar destructive programs are an inherent risk of communication via the internet. We will use our reasonable endeavours to prevent contamination of any material sent to you by any virus or similar destructive code.
It is your responsibility to scan what you choose to download from the Future Lab to ensure that it is free of viruses, worms, trojan horses, logic bombs and other similar destructive material.
We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your participation in the Future Lab or to your downloading of any material linked to it.
If we materially and persistently fail to comply with these Terms or are negligent, we are responsible for direct loss or damage you suffer, namely those that are a natural consequence of our breach that is foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence.
We are not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses or damage you suffer that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of our breach or if they were contemplated by you and us as a result of your participation in the Future Lab. We are not responsible for any business losses.
We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for:
Participation in research activities such as discussions, forums and surveys in the Future Lab is voluntary at all times. You can cancel your participation at any time by following the link provided in the emails we send to you.
We may terminate your participation in the Future Lab at any time and without notice if we have reason to believe that you are in breach of these Terms. In these circumstances you agree not to re-register in the future.
We will give our members as much notice as possible in the event that we are required to close the Future Lab.
Information on the retention of your data after the closure of the Future Lab is set out in our Privacy Policy and it also depends on the instructions of Our Client.
We may revise these Terms and our Privacy Policy at any time for commercial or legal reasons. We will not change the fundamental nature of our agreement with you, namely the principal uses of your personal data by us, Our client and third parties without your consent.
By agreeing to these Terms you are accepting our right to revise these Terms on the basis of this Clause. We will try to provide reasonable notice, emailed to you, of the nature of pending changes to the Terms and provide an opportunity for comment.
Once the revised Terms are available, any such changes are effective immediately. You are expected to check these terms hello@bafuturelab.com from time to time to take notice of any changes we make, as they are legally binding on you. Your continued participation in research activities will be deemed to signify your acceptance to the changes.

These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales and the sole jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
